Biden’s Bottomless Ignorance on Guns-control guns

Biden’s Bottomless Ignorance on Guns

Biden’s Bottomless Ignorance on Guns

hese days President Joe Biden seems confused when it comes to just about everything. However, the longtime gun control advocate still saves some of his most fallacious and unintelligible comments for the firearms debate. Biden’s latest comments on gun legislation suggest that the president lacks even a rudimentary understanding of how firearms operate.

On October 23, Biden hosted NowThis News (a subsidiary of left-wing Vox Media) at the White House for a question and answer session. During an exchange with a questioner, Biden touted legislation he supports that would ban commonly-owned semi-automatic firearms. The addled politician stated, “my legislation says there can be no more than eight bullets in a round, OK?”

No Joe, you’re not OK.

The most charitable interpretation of Biden’s gibberish would be that the president is seeking to prohibit firearm magazines with a capacity in excess of eight rounds. However, even if this was what the enfeebled politician was attempting to communicate, the policy is incoherent.

In District of Columbia v. Heller (2008), the U.S. Supreme Court made clear that the Second Amendment protects the use of arms “in common use” for lawful purposes. Americans own hundreds of millions of firearm magazines with a capacity greater than eight or ten rounds.

The few jurisdictions that have adopted legislation restricting firearm magazines have settled on a capacity limit of 10 or 15 rounds. The exception to this was New York, when disgraced former Gov. Andrew Cuomo rushed through the ill-titled NY SAFE Act in 2013.

The original SAFE Act limited gun owners to only seven rounds of ammunition, but permitted the use of 10 round magazines due to the unavailability of magazines with a lesser capacity. This stratagem proved the common use of 10-plus round magazines.

In striking down the seven-round limit in NYSRPA v. Cuomo (2015), the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit explained,

New York determined that only magazines containing seven rounds or fewer can be safely possessed, but it also recognized that seven-round magazines are difficult to obtain commercially. Its compromise was to permit gun owners to use ten-round magazines if they were loaded with seven or fewer rounds.

The court then determined, “we cannot conclude that New York has presented sufficient evidence that a seven-round load limit would best protect public safety.”

Following the U.S. Supreme Court decision in NYSRPA v. Bruen (2022), which reaffirmed the individual right to keep and bear arms and reiterated the proper framework for addressing infringements on the Second Amendment right, courts should prove more skeptical of all ammunition capacity restrictions. Biden’s boutique eight-round proposal should be dismissed out of hand as illegal and unworkable.

There are some alternative interpretations of Biden’s bizarre words. By “eight bullets in a round,” perhaps the bewildered politician was referencing shotgun shells, which most often contain multiple projectiles per round.

This, of course, would run contrary to Biden’s famously stupid self-defense advice.

In a 2013 Facebook “town hall” sponsored by Parents Magazine, Biden said that he had told Mrs. Biden how to defend herself at their Delaware home.

“I said, `Jill, if there’s ever a problem, just walk out on the balcony … take that double-barrel shotgun and fire two blasts outside the house,”‘ the then-vice president stated.

Of course, reckless discharge of a firearm is a crime. At the time, former Delaware Deputy Attorney General John Garey told U.S. News that “it is not uncommon” for people to be charged under the scenario Biden described, adding, “I’ve seen cases where lawful citizens have used guns outside their homes and they end up arrested.”

Biden can’t seem to help himself when it comes to spouting nonsense about firearms.

At a 2019 campaign stop in New Hampshire, Biden told those gathered, “I believe in the Second Amendment, but nobody says you can have a magazine with 100 clips in it.”

On numerous occasions, while arguing for a ban on commonly-owned semi-automatic firearms, Biden has falsely claimed that cannons are prohibited for purchase or were at the time the Second Amendment was ratified.

Putting on his physics professor cap, on August 30 the dubious scholar informed a Pennsylvania crowd, “the bullet out of an AR-15 travels five times as rapidly as a bullet shot out of any other gun.”

Not only is the cartridge fired by the AR-15 not “five times” faster than “any other gun,” it is actually slower than many other modern cartridges that fire similar weight projectiles. The 5.56x45mm cartridge is limited to around 3,200 feet per second in standard loadings out of the 20 inch or shorter barrels common to AR-15s. Cartridges like the .204 Ruger and .22-250 can push similar bullets up to and beyond 4,000 feet per second.

Given Biden’s ceaseless malarkey, the American public should reject this president’s anti-gun assertions with the same zeal with which he rejects reality and his brain rejects lucidity.

The Wilson Combat EDC X9 9mm defensive handgun is now available with a 3.25” subcompact barrel and slide assembly. This rendition of the EDC X9 is a very fast-handling defensive carry gun.

The hand-fitted 3.25” stainless-steel barrel design has the same match-grade accuracy potential as the larger EDC X9 handguns and is painstakingly tuned by our gunsmiths for flawless reliability with a wide variety of target and defensive ammunition. The stainless steel slide wears the most advanced black DLC (Diamond-like-Carbon) physical vapor deposition finish available with chromium and tungsten underlayers for long-lasting corrosion and abrasion resistance.

The 3.25” subcompact slide assembly is tailored to the varying power level of 9mm ammunition and maintains impressive reliability in all conditions, even when heavily fouled and low on lubrication. Other features include a Tri-Top slide profile with user-replaceable front sight, single lug tapered cone match-grade 1911 barrel, rear Tactical Concealment Battlesight, and a rugged, user-replaceable extractor.

The X-frame is a 15-round, high capacity 9mm 1911 frame that is similar in size to a traditional compact, single stack 1911. The X-frame is machined at Wilson Combat from T6-7075 aluminum and accepts a high-capacity magazine with a grip that is smaller in circumference than a standard 1911 while retaining traditional 1911 controls. The EDC X9 15 and 18-round, double-column magazines were developed jointly with Mec-Gar, industry leaders in double column magazine design.

The screwless X-frame design uses hammer spring tension to keep the aggressive traction Wilson/VZ G-10 starburst pattern grips securely in place. The result is a highly concealable, high-capacity pistol frame that completely disassembles for cleaning with only a single punch without screws or frame bushings and a more natural, oval grip shape. The ergonomic design of the X-frame grip in conjunction with an enlarged trigger guard window and your choice of radiused trigger pad length fits all hand sizes comfortably and improves recoil control. The EDC X9 front and back strap are machined with the Wilson Combat X-Tac tread pattern that provides a comfortable but tactile grip in all shooting conditions.

The EDC X9 3.25” will fit the majority of holsters on the market designed for subcompact 1911 pistols and is offered with or without an accessory rail.

Thoroughly tested by our team of designers, champion shooters, and external industry experts, the Wilson Combat EDC X9 offers discriminating shooters 1911 match-grade accuracy, superior ergonomics, and concealability combined with modern service pistol capacity and reliability.

Happy FLAG Day- What is it? WHY??

In the United States, Flag Day is celebrated on June 14. It commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States on June 14, 1777, by resolution of the Second Continental Congress.[1] The Flag Resolution, passed on June 14, 1777, stated: “Resolved, That the flag of the thirteen United States be thirteen stripes, alternate red and white; that the union be thirteen stars, white in a blue field, representing a new constellation.”[2][3]

Frequency annual

The United States Army also celebrates the U.S. Army birthday on this date; Congress adopted “the American continental army” after reaching a consensus position in the Committee of the Whole on June 14, 1775.[4][5]

In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation that officially established June 14 as Flag Day; on August 3, 1949, National Flag Day was established by an Act of Congress. Flag Day is not an official federal holiday. Title 36 of the United States Code, Subtitle I, Part A, CHAPTER 1, § 110[6] is the official statute on Flag Day; however, it is at the president’s discretion to officially proclaim the observance. On June 14, 1937, Pennsylvania became the first U.S. state to celebrate Flag Day as a state holiday, beginning in the town of Rennerdale.[1]New York Statutes designate the second Sunday in June as Flag Day, a state holiday.[7]

Perhaps the oldest continuing Flag Day parade is in Fairfield, Washington.[8] Beginning in 1909 or 1910, Fairfield has held a parade every year since, with the possible exception of 1918, and celebrated the “Centennial” parade in 2010, along with some other commemorative events. Appleton, Wisconsin, claims to be the oldest National Flag Day parade in the nation, held annually since 1950.[9]

Quincy, Massachusetts, has had an annual Flag Day parade since 1952 and claims it “is the longest-running parade of its kind” in the U.S.[10] The largest Flag Day parade had been held annually in Troy, New York until 2017, which based its parade on the Quincy parade and typically draws 50,000 spectators.[1][11][12]In addition, the Three Oaks, Michigan, Flag Day Parade is held annually on the weekend of Flag Day and is a three-day event and they claim to have the largest flag day parade in the nation as well as the oldest.[13] In Washington, D.C., Flag Day is celebrated heavily through the 7th and 8th Wards of the city. It is tradition in these wards to slow-smoke various meats and vegetables. It is said that Clyde Thompson is the “Godfather of Flag Day”.[why?]

Guns in the News – Our Target is Gun News-THE EXPANSION OF CONSTITUTIONAL CARRY

THE EXPANSION OF CONSTITUTIONAL CARRY

Bureaucrats were never supposed to be in a position to make us ask—even to beg—for our constitutionally protected rights, as they can in jurisdictions with “may-issue” carry permit laws.

Thanks in no small part to lobbying from the NRA’s Institute for Legislative Action, and to the many NRA members who stand behind the NRA by contacting their representatives, 20 states have now gotten bureaucrats out of the way by passing some type of “constitutional carry” (or “permitless carry”) legislation; in fact, four of these 20 states were added this year—Iowa, Montana, Tennessee and Utah.

This year’s expansion of American freedom began in Utah. Back in 2013, Utah’s legislature passed a constitutional-carry bill, but the victory was short-lived, as then-Utah Gov. Gary Herbert (R) vetoed the legislation. While Herbert continued to serve as governor, constitutional-carry advocates knew re-passing the bill would be futile.

But in January of 2021, Gov. Spencer Cox (R) was sworn in. Gov. Cox was a supporter of the constitutional-carry bill in 2013 when he was a state legislator, and he expressed support for this legislation when he ran for governor.

After some debate, the legislature passed the constitutional-carry bill again and Gov. Cox signed it, which made Utah the 17th to pass such legislation.

The Utah bill amends the Utah code pertaining to the penalties associated with incorrectly or illegally carrying concealed. Utah Code Section 76-10-504 is titled “Carrying concealed firearm—Penalties.” At the end of the list of offenses, the legislation adds this sentence: “Subsection 76-10-504(1) does not apply to a person 21 years old or older who may otherwise lawfully possess a firearm.”

Next up was Montana. After a robust debate, Gov. Greg Gianforte (R) signed H.B. 102 last February, allowing Montana residents to carry a concealed firearm for personal protection in most places in the state without first acquiring a permit from the government. Montana was then the 18th state to enact constitutional carry.

“Every law-abiding Montanan should be able to defend themselves and their loved ones. That’s why today, I’m signing H.B. 102 into law,” said Gov. Gianforte.

Bills similar to this one had passed both legislative chambers before in Montana, but were vetoed by previous governors. Not this time. Despite a disingenuous campaign by gun-control advocates, Montanans got bureaucrats out of the way of their freedom.

“Montanans should not have to seek government approval and jump through bureaucratic hoops in order to exercise their right to self-defense,” said NRA’s Montana State Director, Brian Gosch. “Gov. Gianforte recognized this and worked to codify these rights. The NRA thanks the governor and the bill’s prime sponsor, Rep. Seth Berglee, for sending a clear message: In Montana, self-defense rights are recognized and respected.”

Not long after, in April, following debate and lobbying from NRA-ILA, Iowa’s Gov. Kim Reynolds (R) signed House File 756, making Iowa the 19th state to enact a constitutional-carry law.

“Today, I signed legislation that protects the Second Amendment rights of Iowa’s law-abiding citizens while still preventing the sale of firearms to criminals and other dangerous individuals. This law also takes greater steps to inform law enforcement about an individual’s mental illness, helping ensure firearms don’t end up in the wrong hands. We will never be able to outlaw or prevent every single bad actor from getting a gun, but what we can do is ensure law-abiding citizens have full access to their constitutional rights while keeping Iowans safe,” said Gov. Reynolds.

In addition, Gov. Reynolds also signed House File 621 as a response to President Joe Biden’s (D) threat to repeal the federal law—the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act—that protects the firearms industry from frivolous lawsuits. With her signature on this bill, Gov. Reynolds ensures that Iowa has an additional layer of protection to prevent anti-Second Amendment extremists from attempting to bankrupt law-abiding businesses by suing them for third-party, criminal misuse of their legal products.

“Constitutional carry ensures a barrier-free commitment to Second Amendment rights and is core to a strong public-safety agenda,” said Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee (R).

Then came Tennessee.
In Tennessee, faux-gun-rights organizations and gun-control activists attempted to derail the constitutional-carry bill with a large misinformation campaign, but the legislature nevertheless passed S.B. 765/H.B. 786 and sent this important measure to the desk of Gov. Bill Lee (R) for his signature.

This Tennessee legislation allows any law-abiding adult who is legally eligible to obtain a carry permit to carry a handgun without first having to obtain permission from the government. It does not affect previously issued carry permits. Citizens may still obtain a permit so they may carry in other states that recognize Tennessee permits. As in other states, this legislation will ensure that Tennesseans aren’t left defenseless while waiting for government permission or wading through red tape. Tennessee Constitutional Carry will go into effect on July 1. When this happens, there will be 20 states with some type of constitutional-carry provision.

“Thank you to Gov. Bill Lee for leading the effort to strengthen Tennesseans’ right to self-defense. Also, thank you to bill sponsors Rep. William Lamberth and Sen. Mike Bell, as well as those legislators who voted in support of this important self-defense measure,” said NRA-ILA.

In each case, gun-control supporters claimed that removing the requirement for a concealed-carry permit would encourage criminals to illegally carry guns and to commit more crimes; they claimed this even though it hasn’t occurred in the many states that already have constitutional-carry laws. A 2019 study by the Journal of the American College of Surgeons, for example, details the impact of state concealed-carry laws over the last three decades and concludes: “This study demonstrated no statistically significant association between the liberalization of state-level firearm-carry legislation over the last 30 years and the rates of homicides or other violent crime.”

The spread of constitutional carry has clearly shown that American freedom isn’t a problem that needs to be solved. Finding the will and means to better enforce laws targeting criminal behavior, not the freedom of law-abiding citizens, is what’s clearly needed.

Christian Gun Owner-ADDITIONAL INFO-Gun Control for Churches-Protection

he Christian Gun Owner

WELCOME to the Christian Gun Owner web site. There is a huge American community of Christians who know that this country was founded on the principles of the Bible and under the guiding hand of an almighty God.

That community believes that the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights were a result of that guidance.

Christian Gun Owner – You Are Not Alone

Christians often send notes to me stating that they’re glad to find out that they’re not alone.

It’s amazing to me, as many contacts as I have through this site, that Christians who own guns and enjoy the shooting sports feel as isolated as they do.

The fact is that millions of responsible Christians across the U.S. enjoy shooting and hunting. And millions believe in the right and responsibility to protect themselves and their families from criminal assault.

The Christian Gun Owner Site Is For You

This site is dedicated to those millions of Christians. The patriots who enjoy the shooting sports of all kinds and believe in and practice responsibility for their and their family’s safety and protection.

What “Christian” Gun Owner Refers To Here

It means serious believers in Christ. Believers that live their lives in a way that is evidence of their faith. Nothing more or less. The real kind of Christian, not the tv kind.

Just believers in Christ that express that belief by living their everyday lives attempting to do their best to follow Christ. But they also acknowledge their human nature and occasional failures.

Christians at a shooting range

The true Christian gun owner believes he/she is to be a servant to humanity. But that belief does but not extend to being a doormat to those who refuse to live by the rules of reasonable human behavior.

So …. what if you’re a gun owner, but not a Christian?

That question arises from time to time when people contact me wanting to ask a question about guns. Some apparently feel they have to “confess” they’re not believers.

So here’s the clear answer. You’re as welcome here as any gun owner, Christian or other.

That said, if you found this site and take issue with fundamental Christian beliefs, this is not a place for you to vent.

If you would like to enter here to view, read, consider, learn, and communicate, please make yourself at home. And please feel free to contribute to the information.

Your and my beliefs or lack of them does not have to become a contentious issue in our discussion of guns, America, politics and rights.

Christians Using Firearms Responsibly

A ten year old learning to shoot a Walther P22 under the watchful eye of my wife.

This is a site with an owner that understands that firearms use is not consigned to criminals, and not destined to accidents.

We’ve taught countless kids how to handle firearms safely while becoming proficient shooters.

Part of that includes the responsibility to teach them to regard firearms with respect.

In the process of deciding on gun ownership?

Finally, if you’re just looking into gun ownership, this is a great place to look around and learn. Feel free to contact me with your questions, using the Contact Link in the right sidebar.

American Rifleman | New for 2021: Walther Arms PDP-New Walther Release

Walther Arms has always been known for its incredibly comfortable, ergonomic handgun designs, and the latest model from the company launched in 2021 doesn’t disappoint on that front. The Walther Performance Duty Pistol (PDP) is an all-new lineup that incorporates some of the best features ever found in a Walther handgun.

One of the highlights of the Walther PDP is its milled slide, which is designed to accept a range of popular red-dot sights when used with the correct mounting plate. When you buy a Walther PDP, you’re entitled to a free mounting plate of your choice from Walther, which enables you to run the optic of your choice. As it comes from the factory, though, the milled slide cut is covered by a contoured cover plate that maintains the lines of the gun and gives you a clear view of the enhanced open sights.

Following the milled slide, the other story on the Walther Arms PDP is found in its ergonomics. In fact, the ergonomics of this gun are designed expressly for optimized use of a red-dot sight. The grip itself is contoured in such a way that it provides you with a natural aiming presentation, thanks to the position of your pinky finger and support hand. When you line the gun up with the target, that dot will drop right in your line of sight, enabling you to get shots of quickly and intuitively.

In addition to the grip contours, you’ll also find an enhanced grip texture on the Walther Arms PDP.
