Factors that must be considered when concealing?
When you are concealing your weapon you need to first think where you are going: vacation, gym, store, mall, post office, restaurant, picking up kids from school and etc. This is VERY IMPORTANT, there are different rules and regulations that are enforced that those places. If you are traveling out of state, you need to do your research on their carry rules.
Secondly, once you figure out where you are going than you need to figure out what you are going to wear to help conceal your weapon. Body shape and size may be factor in considering what to wear to best conceal your weapon.
Thirdly, after you have picked out your attire, than you need to consider where it would be best to conceal your weapon: ankle, IWB, OWB, appendix, SOB or shoulder. Positioning your weapon can be important factor depending on any activities that you may do where you are going.
As, talked about in another post, a good grain leather gun belt can assist in concealing your weapon. Check out that post for more information. (Can a good gun belt assist with concealing?)
Lastly, and most important is holster selection. Once you have figured out where you are going and what you are wearing and how you want to wear, than next is picking out the right holster. There are many different holsters that offer different concealment. Picking out that perfect holster for you may come by trying out different types until you find the right one for you. It’s a personal preference.
