Beretta has just released their latest version of the famous 92 series, the Beretta M9A4, which comes as an improvement over the M9A3. The primary difference between the A3 to the M9A4 is the addition of factory optics cuts on the top of the pistol’s slide, which was previously only achieved via aftermarket services or products. Beretta’s M9A4 webpage states that there are five different optics mounting plates available, and at the time of this publishing, Beretta stated that M9A4 buyers can get an optics plate for free upon registering their pistol.

Shipping with blanking covers, the end-user is able to purchase one of five different plates that allow for mounting of all of the most popular optic variants on the market today.

Aside from the new optics ready feature, the M9A4 uses the “Vertec” grip angle which is narrower front to back than the original Beretta 92 style. It will also be available with 10, 15, or 18 round magazines. The M9A4 will come with the “G” style decocker-only lever as opposed to having a manual safety and decocker combination. The M9A4’s MSRP is listed at $1099.00, but as of yet, no mention of how much the additional optics plates will cost outside of users getting one free when registering with Beretta. You can view the product page HERE, or visit Beretta.com to see all of their products. NRA Victory in Washington

NRA Victory in Washington

It’s rare that gun owners have something to celebrate in the Emerald City. But on Monday, the Washington Court of Appeals ruled in favor of an NRA suit on behalf of Seattle gun owners.
Washington State law preempts localities from infringing on citizens’ gun rights: “The state of Washington hereby fully occupies and preempts the entire field of firearms regulation within the boundaries of the state.” Despite Washington’s statewide protection of gun owners, Seattle sought to disarm its residents by forcing them to render their firearms inaccessible, even inside their own homes.
The NRA, along with SAF and two individuals, challenged this ordinance. Although the trial court dismissed the case, a unanimous panel of the Washington Court of Appeals disagreed and reversed. The case against Seattle’s gun control can now proceed.
“The case against Seattle is strong,” said Michael Jean, NRA-ILA Director of Litigation. “Washington prohibits local gun control regulation, and this decision vindicates our fight against Seattle’s blatant violation of state law. We’re determined to litigate this case to its rightful conclusion.”

These slim 9X19 pistol models feature a micro-optic-ready factory-milled slide and a slim rail.

The G43X and G48 were introduced in July 2019 and feature a compact, Slimline frame with a 10-round magazine capacity.  The optic-ready Slimline models are now available with an MOS cutout and slim GLOCK mounting rail system. With a non-standard MOS footprint, the Slimline MOS models require specific mico-reflex optics such as the Shield RMSc.

The G48 with Modular Optic System configuration. The G48 with Modular Optic System configuration.GLOCK Inc.Reflex optics (MOS) allow you to look through the reticle and focus on the target and alignment of the dot.  The slim design allows the optical sight to be closer to the shooter’s line of sight and eliminates the need for high, back-up sights by allowing visibility of the standard GLOCK sights through the lens of the compact optic. With improved accuracy, quicker target acquisition and versatility, MOS pistols have become increasingly more popular for home and self-defense and are an ideal options for confined space operations.

A non-standard accessory rail allows for a light to be attached with close alignment to the firearm’s bore with positioning in front of the trigger guard which allows the operator to maintain a two-handed grip.

Both new models incorporate Gen5 Technologies such as the nDLC finish for extreme durability, a reversible magazine catch, and the match-grade, GLOCK Marksman Barrel (GMB) for increased accuracy.

Colt Now Shipping AR-15s to Consumers again

Colt first began marketing the semi-auto AR-15 Sporter to consumers in 1963 and it has continued to be a popular model for the company. After a brief break to fill military orders, they have resumed the practice. (Photo: Chris Eger/Guns.com)

Just nine months after the historic AR-15 maker signaled a curb in selling the rifle through consumer channels, Colt says they are now back on the market.

Last September, the Connecticut-based firearms maker began a hiatus in their sales of rifles to the public while continuing to produce such long arms to fulfill outstanding military and law enforcement contracts– a move they said at the time was only temporary. A market decision and not politics, despite what anti-gun advocates and avowed “we’re coming for your guns” Democratic Presidental candidates heralded as a win in their quest for gun control.

At this year’s SHOT Show in January, Colt told Guns.com that AR-15 production for the consumer market was going to resume once the company’s current rifle production line gets some breathing room on their full plate of military contracts. It seems that time has come.

Now, as first reported by American Rifleman  last week, new Colt AR-15s are shipping to dealers nationwide with Mark O’Keefe writing that over 2,000 Colt LE6920s recently left the factory, bound for eager consumers.

With record interest in gun purchases of AR-15 style rifles, especially from first-time buyers, you can bet those numbers are going to increase.
