Overview
The Baby Eagle is known by the industry as having one of the most reliable mechanisms in the world, and this is evident in the new Baby Eagle III Series as well. It features a precision land and groove match barrel, ambidextrous teardrop-shaped decocking mechanism on the slide, smoother trigger pull, fully interchangeable magazines with all Baby Eagle II models, and a reversible magazine catch for either left- or right-handed shooters. The integral tactical accessory rail makes it ideal for a variety of laser and light accessories.
Magnum Research has also trimmed down the slide and frame making its shape even more like its big brother, the Desert Eagle, and the trimmer design gives it a lighter weight than previous Baby Eagle II models.
The Baby Eagle III can be purchased in polymer frame, full size or semi-compact, and in 9mm and .40 S&W calibers. The slide is produced from high quality carbon steel with an attractive matte black oxide finish.
Other features include a double/single action (DA/SA) trigger with a 12 lb. trigger pull (DA), or 4 lb. for single action. The rifling is right-hand twist, 6 lands and grooves, and combat-type, white three dot fixed sights. The Baby Eagle III ships with two magazines.

Created by Shadow Systems with John Lovell’s hand-selected features, the War Poet line of pistols merges Warrior Poet Society’s philosophy with Shadow Systems’s functionality. War Poet pistols are built on the MR920, DR920, and CR920 platforms, with all internal features of those pistols alongside exclusive WPS color and brand elements. The differentiating features of the War Poet line are in the slide machining. John Lovell selected agressively angled serrations in front, rear, and topside, paired with a weight-balancing window cut. We can make any rifle sling, ammo pouches, holsters, keychains and more. Keep in mind that the lizard is small in size and may need to be pieced together.
Lizard skins don’t get nearly enough love from the average fashion designer. Sure, crocodile and alligator leather are widely recognized as top-tier fashion materials, and python skins are an ever-popular choice, but you don’t often hear much about major fashion projects using lizard skin.
One of the reasons that we use the term lizard skin is that there are actually a few different species of lizard that fall under this skin category.
For example, there are three kinds of lizard skins:
- Teju lizard, or Tupinambis Merianae. This lizard comes from the Southern portions of South Africa. The scales of the Teju lizard are small and almost square-shaped, with larger rectangular scales along the belly. Like a python, the Teju’s skin has irregular color patterns that vary by subspecies.
- Ring lizard, or Varanus Salvator. Hailing from Indonesia, the ring lizard’s skin has a series of small round color patterns in its scales, hence the name. Like the Teju lizard, the ring lizard’s scales are small and square-like, with larger, more rectangular, scales along the belly.
- Nile Lizard, or Varanus Niloticus. Mostly found in Sudan, the Nile lizard has smaller scales than the ring and Teju lizards. The belly scales on these hides are still larger and more rectangular than the back scales.
While these hides all have similarities such as in the size of their scales and the overall size of the hide, the individual colors vary and the shapes of the scales can be subtly different. This gives you a little more variety when ordering lizard skins than you might have originally expected.
