The Thoroughbred Holster is the most comfortable IWB Tuckable holster we offer. People are sometimes turned away by the initial size of this holster. But actually this holster only adds 1/8 of an inch (plus the gun’s width) to your pants. This holster wraps the body and distributes the weight of the firearm, thus giving the ability to carry a much larger frame gun while still being comfortable for all day wear. Thoroughbred holster is designed to be carried towards the rear of your draw side – 3:30 to 5 o’clock for right hand draw or 7 to 8:30 for left hand draw. The Thoroughbred holster offers the most protection from sharp edges, safety, slide locks, and beaver tails on 1911’s. Not only does it protect you from the gun, it also protects the gun from the salts and sweat from your skin. This holster can be made of 100% American horse hide (additional cost) and has two powder coated holster clips that are adjustable for ride height and cant of the holster. This holster will NOT cover the full length barrel of the weapon. This holster also has a reinforced mouth for easy one handed re-holstering! As the owner and maker of this holster it is my personal favorite IWB carry holster. The holster clips can fit up to 1-1/2 gun belt (2 layer) or 1-3/4 regular belt (1 layer).

Estimated width will vary depending on the weapon, however the holster for an example for a Beretta 92 can be to 10″ wide. This helps to distribute the weight of the weapon for better concealment when wearing!

What is a Combat Cut?

NOTE: DUE TO THE FACT THAT OUR GEAR IS ADJUSTABLE THREAD LOCKER IS NOT APPLIED DURING THE PRODUCTION PHASE. PLEASE ARRANGE YOUR GEAR HOWEVER YOU AND YOUR APPLICATION DESIRE AND APPLY A BLUE THREAD LOCKER TO YOUR HARDWARE. LOST HARDWARE WILL BE REPLACED AT THE CUSTOMERS EXPENSE.

UPGRADE YOUR HOLSTER CLIP TO THE NEW AND IMPROVED ULTICLIP FOR THE ENHANCED RETENTION. ALSO, DON’T FORGET TO CHECKOUT THE A-1+ DELUXE THOROUGHBRED HOLSTER AS AN UPGRADE TO THIS HOLSTER. THE A-1+ WILL COVER THE FULL LENGTH BARREL, THE A-1 DOES NOT COVER THE FULL LENGTH BARREL.

Can not be made for lasers and lights because the end of the barrel on the weapon is exposed and not covered with leather, therefore the laser would snag when drawing. Very nice quality holster. Overall “footprint” is a little bigger than strictly necessary, but it’s very comfortable, and doesn’t detract in any way. Would buy again.

I LOVE these holsters. I use these holsters exclusively for my EDC’s. They are low profile (depending on your gun) and the leather warms up to form fits against your body making them the most comfortable holster you can wear. I think I have purchased 8 or 9 of these for different guns over the last few years and every one has been top notch. Comfort is vital to me other wise I will find an excuse not to carry. These holsters never give me an excuse not to. They may not come in pretty finishes like carbon fiber or the multitude of Kydex finishes out there but who see’s it tucked down in your pant’s anyway. For as long as I can carry it will be with these holsters.
