Threaded Barrel/Red Dot Sight/Aftermarket Sights

**What is a red dot sight? Type of non-magnifying reflector (or reflex) sight for firearms, and other devices that require aiming, that gives the user an aimpoint in the form of an illuminated red dot.

Stitching Color * 

Wanna spice up your holster a little, or have a different holster than anyone else? Make the holster unique and custom by adding some color stitching to the front of the holster only. Each color is made with heavy duty nylon thread, to resist easy tearing or dry rot damage. Keep in mind that colored thread may affect the color of the holster, the holster could be lighter or darker because its a different dying processing and so the dye will not run onto the thread.

Stitching * 

Double stitching is a second line of stitching. This will aid in better retention and long term use of the holster. (extra $15.99)

Thumb Break

On large DA (double action) weapons the thumb break is placed decocked. Smaller SA/DA (single action/double action) weapons the thumb break is placed cocked and locked. If you would like your thumb break placed differently, then please add that in the comment section. If you order a holster with a thumb break there is no returns or exchanges or refunds under any condition.

Holster End

The holster end means that the barrel of your weapon will be cover, but you have the option to having the holster end sewn at the bottom or leaving it open. This is a preference of choice. Leaving the holster end open is good for target shooting. This will allow for debris to exit the barrel of the weapon after shooting a lot. Flip side, if carry the weapon in a pouch or outdoors (riding a horse, bike, hunting, etc.), one may want to enclose the bottom. So debris will not enter the barrel of the weapon. (Please see FAQ page for more information).

Internal Liner

When we craft a holster we use the smooth bull hide leather on the outside and the ruffer portion on the inside. When someone adds a liner we add a second layer of thinner bullhide leather and use the smooth side inside the holster with the two ruff sides against each other. This process is to enable is a smooth drawing of the weapon, instead of suede having some friction when drawing. Secondly, suede tends to not mold as easy on the inside as the bullhide, enabling less retention. The bullhide leather molds with great detail and definition in the leather. The bullhide leather is not as thick as the suede causing better concealment of the holster when wearing.

Exotic Leather

Choosing exotic leather will increase the strength and durability of the holster. The exotic leathers listed below is some of the strongest leathers available! The texture is much more defined than the other leathers. Exotic leather is a dense material that helps resist moisture and scratch proof. Well worth every penny! MTR Custom Leather Cross Draw holster has many unique features that include; A custom cut sweat shield for comfort while sitting or riding in a car, a reinforced mouth for better retention, full length coverage to protect you from your gun and your gun from being scratched or damaged while using this holster, a belt channel on the back molded for a tight fit for the belt and a 1¾” slot to insure no movement and to pull the holster close to the body, and last but not least, our Professional Hand Boning (for no extra charge) to insure a glove tight fit and very detailed and professional look. The holster has an estimated 15 degree cant forward. Any more of a cant may cause the weapon to come out of the holster over time.

This holster is perfect for the business man that is on the road a lot or even the average Joe that wants to feel more secure while riding in a vehicle.  The picture shown above has shark trim which is an added feature on this holster. Keep in mind that colors on the holster varies depending on the grain of the leather. Sweat shields come on this holster with you have a semi automatic, revolvers will not come with such high sweat shield. The belt slots can fit up to 1-1/2 gun belt(2 layer) (1/4″ thick) or 1-3/4 regular belt (1 layer).

Keep in mind, that smaller weapons may look different than the picture. Since the holster has 2 belt loops on the back, this does not leave a lot of room to cant the holster for a crossdraw on small weapons, just not enough room. The holster may only have one belt loop instead of 2 or the loop may be positioned on the top (slide) of the weapon instead of the trigger guard.

    I find using the crossdraw holster easier for me to use to conceal my edc gun. I also like the fact that its super comfortable to wear while driving and knowing i dont have to readjust my edc to just sit down is a big big deal for me. I have now Purchased 3 mtr holster 2 crossdraw and one dual carry and the crossdraw is my favorite by far. Mtr is a quality custom made holster and for me they will be the only holster maker i will buy from for now on. Fyi i also am able to wear this crossdraw holster on my strong side and the ability to sit so high on my side and tight against my hip/belly makes my edc super concealable which is exactly what im looking for. Highly recommended holster!

    Design is where I have an issue. It does not hold pistol tight to body. The holster rides almost vertical and belt loops are low on the holster causing the grip of the Sig P365xl to fall away from the body and printing. I’m 5’10” & 158 lbs with a flat stomach. (Wish I’d known about the new Gen 2 design.)Otherwise excellent leather, great stitching, holds gun secure and liner makes for a smooth draw.

    Beautiful holster. Very well made and finished. The wide loops keep it from moving at all, and allow space for a belt loop between them for a secure draw.

    Of course I sprang for all the bells and whistles (exotic, pure stingray, lined, double stitched and put a rush on it) so it was a pretty penny, but I think this will last longer than I will. My last holster from MTR was regular leather, but is probably ten years old now, not worn out, but getting pretty stretched out.

    My only surprise was that it wasn’t very snug fitting even on the first pistol insertion. Maybe they had to do that because stingray really doesn’t stretch much? No matter, as I added a tension adjustment. I prefer it, and my agency does as well.

    By the way, I don’t wear this as a cross draw, but as a strong – side holster, so it cants rearward a bit. That way, when you come out of the holster, you’re already almost on target. Forward cant on a holster is completely wrong in my opinion, and I’ve been a firearms instructor for more than twenty years.

    It could certainly be worn cross draw in a vehicle while driving to keep it clear of the seat belt buckle.

    This is my second cross-draw holster from MTR because I was so pleased with my first holster for my Sig Equinox
    P938 / Viridian Instant-on green laser. This first holster has a magnet sewn in to activate the instant on/off of the laser. It required very little break in and the pistol draws smoothly despite tall front and rear tritium sights. The sight tunnel is quite adequate. The pistol draws and re-holsters quite nicely, and remains close to the body for almost no printing while wearing just a t-shirt as a cover garment.
    My new holster far exceeded expectations so that when I was able to order a Springfield Armory Hellcat RDP, I looked to MTR for another cross-draw holster. A short time later MTR showed the cross-draw holster available for the Hellcat RDP. The RDP comes equipped with a compensator as well as a red dot sight. I contacted MTR about making the holster to accommodate an Olight PL-Mini2 Valkyrie and was invoiced for the same.
    So I ordered this RDP holster with the same double stitching and the open holster end as the holster for the Sig P938. But this time I opted for the sharkskin trim instead of plain-jane as before. The reason for ordering an open-end holster was to shorten the bottom end of the holster to improve concealability. Maybe by only 1/2″, but anything is better than nothing.
    My first holster was ordered with expedited shipping and I did receive it within about 3 weeks. My second holster was ordered with standard shipping and it arrived in 12-13 weeks, as stated.
    The first thing I noticed was that the RDP holster had a sewn-closed end, despite having ordered open-end. The pistol was VERY tight in the holster. I understand this is not totally undesirable, so I worked the pistol in and out repeatedly, let it sit for a few days with plastic wrap around the pistol in the holster. The holster started to loosen up a bit. The stitching on this holster was not done with the same care as the Sig holster. There were loops of stitching on the inside of the holster, right where the almost non-existent sight tunnel should have been, snagging the front sight upon drawing.
    I am a little disappointed that this pistol doesn’t ride as close to the body as the Sig does in it’s holster. I only use the 11 round magazine instead of the 13 or 15 round mag for concealed carry, but the grip sags outward quite a bit, unlike the Sig. I’m not sure if this could possibly be rectified by allowing the pistol to sit a smidge deeper in the holster or by moving the belt slots a squeak.
    As of the time of writing this review, the RDP will draw and re-holster very smoothly until I thread it on my gun-belt to wear. Then, the only way to draw without a snag is to force my index finger inside the holster along side the slide while drawing.
    Overall, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Sig P938 Cross-Draw holster. The Hellcat RDP Cross-Draw holster gets a grade of adequate.

    Quality leather holsters for the Kel Tec PMR-30 are hard to find.MTR also offers a cross draw for the PMR-30, which may be no one else has. I purchased the cross draw and I love it!
