The Horse Hide Gun Belt is made from horse hide instead of bull hide. The Horse Hide Gun Belt has a firm grain that keeps the material durable and makes it an excellent repellent for moisture due to its density. Therefore, the Horse Hide Gun Belt can hold up in humid areas and withstand the presence of liquids, like body oils or sweat. The Horse Hide Gun Belt also lends itself to a greater degree of sheen when polished. Many professionals appreciate the appearance, quality, and durability of horse hide leather. When constructing the gun belt, MTR uses 2 pieces of grade A medium ounce leather. By using two pieces of leather instead of one helps to decrease the short term of the belt rolling over in the back, stretching at the holes and wearing out fast. Using two pieces of leather aids in the function of drawing your weapon fast. Your holster will stay nice and tight onto the belt and not raise up when drawing the weapon from a holster. By having a stiff belt that secures your holster tightly will increase your concealment of the weapon. MTR Custom Leather gun belts are ¼” thick. Which is thickness a gun belt should be when carrying. MTR uses a professional slicking technique that brings the two pieces of leather into one on the edge. This helps to slide the holster and accessories onto the belt easier. Also, with the professional slick edges on the gun belt helps for long term of the edges not splitting. MTR Custom Leather uses heavy duty nylon thread instead of cotton thread. Nylon thread is a lot more durable and stronger. The belt buckle is held together by 2 Chicago screws.
1.5″ is by far the most popular width for a gun belt and will work well with most pants (except for some dress/suit pants with belt loops that are too small).
Our stiffeners add even more rigidity to our already stiff belts. The purpose of this add-on is to make the belt super stiff for hardcore wear. This stands up to the harshest treatment and heaviest guns, lights, mags, etc.
Our horse hide belts are made in the same exacting manner as our other dual layer gun belts; that is, an outer layer of submersion dyed horse hide is mated to an dyed layer of bull hide leather, and stitched together with heavy-duty nylon thread. The belt is then given an incredibly fine level of edge beveling and polishing, making the dual layer belt look like one piece of leather. The final waxing and hand buffing with lambs wool makes this a belt you will be proud to wear for many years to come!
All belts come with 6 holes on 1″ centers for maximum adjustability. The center hole will be the 4 hole back from the tongue (end) of the belt.

NOTE: DUE TO THE FACT THAT OUR BELT BUCKLES ARE INTERCHANGABLE, THREAD LOCKER IS NOT APPLIED DURING THE PRODUCTION PHASE. IF YOU DECIDE TO CHANGE OR BUCKLE OR KEEP THE ONE THAT IS ON IT, THAN APPLY A BLUE THREAD LOCKER TO YOUR HARDWARE. LOST HARDWARE WILL BE REPLACED AT THE CUSTOMERS EXPENSE.
Fantastic belt. A good gun belt that isn’t ugly and plastic! This is my 2nd one. The first one will last forever too bad I got fatter! Heads up it can take over a month for your belt to deliver. But it always comes.
